What Is Perfume Etiquette?
The story of perfume began long before brands and store displays. In Ancient Egypt, scent was used as a sign of respect for the gods and as a symbol of purity. In Rome, men applied aromatic oils after baths, and in Europe perfume was often used to cover the everyday smells of the city. Over time, perfume became what it still is today — a part of culture and a reflection of personal style.
Perfume as part of your image
I see perfume in a simple way: it’s not about impressing others — it’s about expressing who you are. A good fragrance doesn’t shout. It doesn’t distract — it completes. When the scent fits you, it becomes part of your look, like your watch, your belt, or your suit.

How to apply perfume correctly
The first rule is cleanliness. Never apply perfume on dirty skin or clothing. A fragrance only opens up properly on clean, warm skin. So — take a shower first, then apply the perfume. This small habit makes the scent cleaner, deeper, and more natural.
Don’t apply too much. Two or three sprays are enough — on your wrists, behind your ears, or on your chest. A true fragrance shouldn’t arrive before you do. It should be noticed only up close.

The quality and price of a good perfume
A good perfume is worth its price. Usually it’s between €80 and €150 per bottle. In a quality fragrance you can feel depth instead of chemicals. It lasts, doesn’t irritate, and changes gradually through the day — like a story told without hurry. A good scent doesn’t overwhelm you; it quietly stays with you.

How to choose a perfume
Choose your perfume without rushing. Paper strips will never show how a scent behaves on your skin. Apply it, wear it for a day, and feel how it changes. And most importantly — don’t follow trends. A perfume should be yours, not just popular.
If a scent makes you feel calm and confident, if you naturally think “this is me,” then you’ve found the right one.

How many perfumes a man needs
In a man’s wardrobe, three perfumes are enough:
– one for every day — light and fresh;
– one for the evening — richer, deeper, with more character;
– and one for special occasions.
A large collection doesn’t make your style stronger. What matters is that each fragrance has a purpose and a meaning.

The etiquette of giving perfume
Don’t give perfume as a random gift. A fragrance is personal. If a person doesn’t know the scent, let him choose it himself. It’s an intimate part of style and should belong to the man who wears it.
Perfume as a sign of respect
Perfume is part of self-care culture. It helps you feel collected, confident, and clean — without showing off. It’s a quiet form of respect — for yourself and for others.
Fact in the Spotlight
Vespa was created by an engineer who used to build airplanes.
Corradino D’Ascanio, the designer of the first Vespa, actually didn’t like motorcycles. He found them uncomfortable, dirty, and unsafe. So when he was asked to create a new type of city transport, he did the opposite of a motorcycle: a flat platform instead of a frame, a closed body, comfortable seating, easy handling — more like aviation than motorbikes.
In a way, Vespa is “airplane logic” applied to two wheels. That’s why it feels so smooth, clean, and effortless to use.
