These were the words I heard at one of the dinners after arriving in Crete.
This wasn’t a vacation. It was four intense, full days. And on the last evening, we all sat at the table, pleasantly tired — the kind of fatigue you want to feel more often. Purposeful. Warm.

The trip was an invitation to celebrate the birthday of Bespoke Athens.
I met Vasilis at Pitti Uomo, and from the very first moment, I felt something in common between us. A week later, we had a call — and I was invited to join them in May. The program included a trunk show, a vintage Alfa Romeo drive around Crete, and of course, content creation for social media.
Every day and every evening felt special.

I was surrounded by people who once inspired me to take my first steps into the world of classic menswear. And for four days, we were together — laughing, dancing, singing, and sharing real, deep conversations.
On the first night, we shared stories about how we first met. I remembered asking Franco for a photo back in 2018 at Pitti Uomo. During the dinner, he showed it to me — a photo I didn’t even have myself. And it truly moved me that he remembered. Thank you, Franco.
The next day was the trunk show. We were measured, and each of us received a beautifully tailored safari jacket inspired by Alfa Romeo.

Before the trip, we had a video call with Vasilis and the team, where we took my measurements remotely — and when I tried on the jacket in Crete, it fit perfectly.
Day three brought a photoshoot in the mountains and in a beautiful old town. What my eyes saw… I felt nothing but gratitude for moments like these.
I was driving with my new friend Manos — we talked about life, about real things. On the second drive together, we were already singing Elvis Presley and laughing. We were a great duo.
And honestly, I’ve never seen six emotionally mature men laugh so hard they couldn’t stop. We were asked to keep filming before it got dark, but none of us could hold it together. It was pure joy.

This trip also gave me a powerful example of what it means to build a real team. When every member says kind things about each other — sincerely. When each person is a strong individual. When the long dinner table feels like one space, one rhythm. And as always, there was laughter, lightness, and joy.
On the last day, we returned to the old town.First, we were remeasured for new garments, and then we simply sat together, talking. No pressure, no roles — just presence.
What I want to say is this: yes, I went to a beautiful place. But people make places. And the company I found myself in — that mattered more to me than anything else.
I remember not just where I was — but who I was with. And because of that, I truly enjoyed where I was.
In the end, those four days gave me so much. I learned. I felt. I grew.
To everyone who was there — a heartfelt thank you. I’d hug you all again if I could.
See you in Tuscany.
The Greek Job — great job.
Fact in the Spotlight
The first bespoke suits were crafted on Savile Row in London as early as the 18th century. The term bespoke comes from the verb to bespeak, meaning “to order in advance” or “to speak for.” So a bespoke suit is, quite literally, a garment that has been spoken for — made specifically for you.
