Chaos Before Takeoff
It feels like I just wanted to write about the upcoming trip to Pitti Uomo, and now it’s already time to share my report.
If I had to sum it up in one sentence — as always, it was incredible! But let’s dive into more detail.
This time was quite unusual. I received my new coat and trousers just three hours before my flight and didn’t even know how they turned out. The shoes I planned to wear didn’t arrive either — the delivery simply lost them. Thankfully, they were eventually found and sent directly to Florence. However, I couldn’t wear the trousers as they were too short. I only managed to let them out but didn’t have time to finish them properly. The coat was fine, except for the sleeve length, which I fixed myself with a needle and thread.
Rome’s Hidden Charms
Before heading to Florence, I first went to Rome, where I stayed at an incredible place, met wonderful people, and had an amazing time. One of my goals was to visit my favorite bar, “Farnese,” where an elderly gentleman works — I’ve written about him before. Unfortunately, he wasn’t there this time. I really hope everything is okay with him and that he simply couldn’t make it. I look forward to seeing him in June.
A Warm Welcome in Florence
I always arrive in Florence a bit early to prepare calmly and start everything without rushing. As soon as I arrived, I went to the post office to pick up my shoes and then met up with my good friend Fernando, whom I’m always happy to see. I’m so glad that Florence has become more than just a beautiful city for me — it’s also a place where I have favorite spots and friends.
The Pitti Uomo Hustle
When the festival started, the days turned into a non-stop marathon, with hardly any time to rest. Mornings began with workouts, breakfast, content preparation, and a quick coffee before the exhibition, where I would already run into friends. Afterward, we headed to the event at Fortezza da Basso.
Chasing the Perfect Trousers
One of my main goals was to find a manufacturer capable of producing trousers for us since, as I’ve mentioned before, we are working on launching an online store and our first collection of trousers. (If you have any contacts, please share! Or perhaps you run a production yourself?) At the moment, we are negotiating with factories and hope you’ll be able to order them by March.
In the evenings, there were always events, and in between, I tried to find time to share updates with you.
Onward to Milan
To sum it up, it was, as always, incredible. You lose a lot of energy, but in return, you gain so much more. As I mentioned, I came back home as a new person. Actually, not home, but straight to Milan Fashion Week, which I’ll tell you about in another article. It was also very productive, and I’ll be able to show you which brands we visited and how we spent our time.
Thank you once again for your support and to everyone I met during these wonderful days at Pitti Uomo!
Fact in the Spotlight
The oldest hotel in Rome is Albergo del Sole al Pantheon, established in 1467. It is located directly across from the iconic Pantheon and is considered a historical landmark of the city. Many prominent figures, including writers and artists of the Renaissance era, have stayed there.
