Overcoming Visa Issues and Arriving in Biella

At the beginning of April, I received an invitation to visit the city of Biella in Italy and get acquainted with the textile manufacturer Lanificio Rogna. Those who follow me on Instagram know that I had visa issues. I am very grateful that with the help of Filippo and his team, we managed to write to the Italian consulate, and I was granted a visa. Thanks to this, I was able to attend the event in mid-May, and I will also be able to go to Florence for Pitti Uomo, which I am extremely happy about.

Exploring Lanificio Rogna: The Heart of Biella Textiles

Let me tell you about the trip’s itinerary and what we did there.

On the first day, I landed at Malpensa Airport, where a transfer was waiting for me and took me to Biella to the hotel where I quickly checked in. Well, before the transfer at the airport, of course, I managed to drink an espresso with a pistachio croissant. This is already my wonderful tradition. Upon arrival, to enjoy the sounds of coffee cups, spoons, and coffee aromas, and the sounds of Italians. Wonderful. After I got ready, we all met on the terrace and got to know each other. It felt as if we had known each other for five years and had seen each other just yesterday.

A transfer picked us up, and we went to lunch, where we were deliciously fed. Then we went to the city center, where the main office of Lanificio Rogna is located. There, they showed us the office, told us the history of the factory, and then each of us had the opportunity to create our own fabric.

Crafting My Own Biella Fabric

As I already mentioned, my color of the season is olive, so it was not difficult to guess that I chose olive fabric. Herringbone, which consists of 45 percent wool, 40 percent linen, and 15 percent silk. Can you imagine how soft my fabric will be? And what a suit will come out of it? I am eagerly waiting to receive it. But believe me, it was not easy when you have a large selection and you don’t know what you want. Or rather, you want everything.

Enjoying Meals and Company in Biella

After that, we went to dinner, where I had wonderful risotto, enjoyed a glass of prosecco, and fully immersed myself in the enjoyment of flavors. Italian cuisine knows how to do that. At the end, tiramisu and a cup of espresso, and then a transfer arrived to take us to the hotel.

A Day at the Textile Factory in Biella

Moreover, we agreed to go play padel at 8:30 in the morning. There was no jogging due to heavy rain, but we played padel excellently. After breakfast, we went to get ready. On the same day, I had a flight back to Warsaw, so I immediately packed my suitcase, and then we went directly to the factory where the fabric is made. They told us about all the processes, showed us how the fabric is made, and how there are special professions where a specially trained person sits and manually corrects defects behind the machine. When I saw how this happens, I just couldn’t believe my eyes. They didn’t send us to the airport hungry, but instead fed us, and then a transfer took Efe and me to the airport, where I worked, packed my things, and flew home.

Final Thoughts About My Biella Trip

These were two wonderful days among such amazing people and real gentlemen. We laughed a lot, discussed, and shared our thoughts about men’s style. Also, as I have said many times, it is important for me to communicate with people who carry values, and their philosophy coincides with mine: to be kind, positive, and not surround yourself with negativity. I was pleased to get to know such a wonderful factory, where the values are precisely to make this world beautiful and with a smile on your face! Thanks for the invitation, Lanificio Rogna.

And in conclusion, I want to say a huge thank you to each of you. Especially when you come up to me anywhere in the world. This happened once again at the airport when a gentleman came up to us, recognized us, and I was pleased to meet such an interesting person and to know that in Milan we have another good acquaintance!

A presto!
