The Art of Being a Gentleman: My Experience Speaking at a Leading Bank
Recently, I had the honor of giving a presentation for premium clients of one of the largest banks in my country. It was a special moment, and today I want to share with you the main topics we discussed and the lessons I took from this experience.
My motto and fear of public speaking
I always remind myself: if life gives you a chance to embarrass yourself — take it.
This line helps me overcome stage fright. I always feel nervous in the first few minutes, but once I start talking about what I love, the fear disappears, and the energy takes over.
First lesson — do what you love
Standing on that stage, I realized once again: everything happening in the present is the result of past actions and choices. Invitations like this do not come by chance. The path was long, but the main lesson is simple: do what you truly love, and even fear will turn into strength.
Art and men’s style
We explored what connects art and style. I used the example of the Renaissance: from a block of marble, masters created sculptures that still move us deeply. In men’s style, it is a similar process. We create images that reflect individuality — through the right proportions, lines, combinations, and carefully chosen pieces.
Style is more than clothing
Men’s style is not just about a suit or a tie. It includes behavior, habits, respect for others, and awareness of how you present yourself. Clothes are only a small part of what makes a true gentleman.
Dialogue with the audience
The best presentations are those where the audience is engaged. I was glad to see active questions from the listeners. After the official part, I always stay another 30–50 minutes to talk personally and build new connections. These conversations are often the most valuable.
Appearance as an investment
We also discussed why appearance is an investment. Every day we attend meetings, sign deals, or present ideas. Imagine an investor who sees ten entrepreneurs in a day. Nine look the same, and one took care of his appearance. In the first three seconds, that one already has an advantage — the chance to be noticed and heard.
We are always happy to share our experience. If you would like to invite us to speak for your company, create a corporate style, or hold a private talk about men’s style, we would be glad to collaborate. Please contact us at [email protected].
Fact in the Spotlight
Research shows that around 75% of people feel anxious when speaking in public, making it one of the most common fears worldwide.
Quote of the Week
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
Winston Churchill
That’s all for today. See you on Saturday next week!
