I want to talk to you about accessories, specifically bags: how I choose them, what I pay attention to, and where I buy them. And yes, at the end, I will tell you about a portfolio that I designed myself and had made for my trip to Pitti Uomo.
Essential Tips for Choosing the Right Bag
The main points I pay attention to when choosing bags. The first thing I do is think about what shoes I will wear them with, what pants, and I imagine how they will match. If everything is fine, I move on to the next step; if I understand that I don’t like it and have nothing to wear it with, I just don’t buy it, no matter how much I like it. Because why buy something that you can’t wear with anything?
Choosing the Right Color for a Tote Bag
When I bought my first tote bag, I knew I would wear it with dark brown tassel loafers. So, I immediately understood that I needed to look for something in that color. Remember, if you want a harmonious look, don’t buy a black bag to go with brown shoes. This is very important and can highlight your look and make it more harmonious. Can you buy a regular leather bag to go with suede tassel loafers? I did, and I paid attention to the tone of the bag to make sure it matched well and I liked it.
Attention to Details: Monograms and Metal Colors
Also, I don’t buy items with too many distracting elements. I like to add a monogram with my name to the bag and make sure it doesn’t distract from the overall look. Another element I pay attention to is the color of the metal. I prefer gold or bronze. I always have bronze adjusters on my pants, and it’s important for me that the color of the metal matches. There are many small details, but if you follow them, you can add a bag to your wardrobe that will harmonize with the rest of your clothes, and every morning it will be easy to put together an outfit for the day.
My Experience with Soubchuk Leather Goods and Sartolane
Since I live in Warsaw, I’ve gotten to know brands that produce high-quality leather goods. The first brand I got to know and really enjoy working with is called Soubchuk Leather Goods. Karol has never let me down with deadlines, and I always receive very high-quality products. They also added a few gifts like a key wallet and a business card holder, for which I’m very grateful and use with pleasure. The second brand is called Sartolane(. I met the guys last year and also like this brand and the products they make. I already have their belts, a beautiful green portfolio, and a suede tote bag.
How Brands Make Me Happy
I also want to highlight and thank each of these brands for making a portfolio for my MacBook. The standard laptop size is 13 inches, but mine is 15, and each of them agreed to make it specially for my size. These details always make me happy, and I want to collaborate with such brands for a long time.
I want to say that this is not paid advertising. I always try to write here about people who make good things, are passionate about their work, and I want more people to know about them. Because each of them can create a good product for us and provide good service. Yes, I have already sent a bag in for service, and they didn’t charge me, which I also want to tell you about. I was pleasantly surprised.
We created our own black leather portfolio
I’m writing this text over a few days on a train to Florence because in three days, the next Pitti Uomo starts, and for it, we specifically created a black leather portfolio, which I’m sure you will really like. I was inspired by a model I saw when visiting friends. They showed me a vintage bag that I really liked, and I always try not to repeat designs, always changing and modernizing them to suit myself. It turned out great.
In the next issues, there will be an interview with Karol. He is a very nice guy. When I met him, I visited his workshop, and then he invited me to his house for lunch, where his mother fed us very well. So, I left with a bag that I really like and in a good mood with good memories.
Fact in the Spotlight
The production of suede leather starts with preparing the hide, usually from deer, pig, goat, or calf. The hide goes through a complex tanning process where the hair is removed and the inner layers of the leather are treated. Then, the leather is sanded on the inside to create the soft, velvety texture that is characteristic of suede.
