How to use perfume and how to choose it?

In my last survey, a few people asked me to talk about perfume, and I decided to do it here. I’ll share how I use perfume and my experience in choosing it. What to look for and what not to choose in a perfume. And, most importantly, I’ll give a couple of important recommendations on how a gentleman should use perfume.
The First Step to Understanding How to Choose Perfume
The very first thing to start with is to understand how to choose perfume and how to find the right one for you. I’ll tell you right away, sometimes it’s difficult to do it on the first try. You have to try and get acquainted with the scents. Gather some information about perfume before going out to buy it.
Tips for Choosing Your Perfume
It’s not worth going out and buying low-quality perfume at a low price. Usually, these scents are very sharp and don’t leave positive emotions after you test them. If I didn’t have a big budget for good perfume, I would wait a little and then go buy it. If you’ve already tried a lot of scents and find it difficult to choose, take a friend with you whom you trust and who has good taste to help you choose. Usually, I immediately go to choose small testers of three to five scents and get to know them. I apply them on myself and see how much I like them. Recently, I tried to find another scent, and after I tried all 5 testers, I didn’t like any of them. Although when I tried them all in the perfume shop, I liked them all. Why do I do this? I try to buy good perfume that doesn’t come cheap, and I don’t want to just buy it to have it on hand. I have one bottle at home that I use very rarely, and I won’t say that I like it.
There’s a myth that if you apply perfume and you don’t smell it, then it’s your perfume. That’s not true, you just get used to it over time, and then you simply don’t feel it on yourself.

Proper Application of Perfume
After you’ve chosen a scent for yourself, it’s also very important to apply it correctly. The most important rule is to apply perfume only on clean skin. After a shower, you can apply it. After you understand when to apply it, it’s important to know how much to apply to your body. I apply it to my body no more than twice. It’s not worth taking a perfume shower, it’s very bad. Let a light and pleasant scent emanate from you, so that everyone can feel it.
Perfume Etiquette
Situations that I’ve noticed repeatedly in the gym are when a man applies perfume before a workout, not after. Gentlemen, believe me, you won’t attract any lady with such an action, but rather the opposite. Why mix perfume with your sweat? After working out, take a shower, apply perfume – that’s all! And another question – can you apply perfume on clothes or only on the body? I never apply my perfume on clothes, except on a clean scarf, I can create a scent cloud and apply it once.
Understanding Your Perfume Collection
On my shelf, there are three types of perfume that I always use and like. One for everyday use, simpler, found it by accident. One for the evening, heavier, I only wear it with a jacket or a shirt. And the third one is also more everyday, but not the lightest. Well, the one I don’t like.
How do I understand which perfume was applied to me out of the three today? First, I ask myself what mood I’m in today and how I would like to smell. What’s the weather like, is it evening or still morning. If it’s dinner, it’s one perfume, if it’s just an ordinary day and my look won’t be strict, I apply my everyday perfume. In general, it depends on what I’m going to wear today, what mood I’m in, where I’m going, and what conditions are created.
And one more important point that I forgot to mention. Often, many people give perfume as a gift. I don’t recommend doing that. Because what you like doesn’t necessarily mean the person you’re giving it to will like it. We’re all different, and we all have different perceptions of scents. It’s better to buy a certificate, or if only you know that this perfume really suits the person. Don’t choose for someone else.
The Importance of Perfume
Perfume is a very important element of a man’s wardrobe, and it should be treated very carefully because it creates and emphasizes the male style along with other important things we’ve already talked about in our previous articles.
Here are Three of My Fragrances
– Ganymede (Marc-Antonie Barrois)

– Terroni (Orto Parisi)

– Brunello Cucinelli (this is the everyday scent that really caught my attention when I was working in Milan with a client and decided to buy it for myself)

Fact in the Spotlight
The Hungarians were the first ones to start making the first modern perfumes. They were made from fragrant oils mixed with alcohol. The first modern perfumes were produced in 1370 for the Hungarian Queen Elizabeth and were known all over Europe as Hungarian water.
